February 28, 2019 : Field trip to Hourinji (Daruma temple) with Japanese students

As a part of Japanese class, students took field trips with Japanese students.
Field trips included Hourinji temple, Kanji Museum, Paper making, and bowling.

Below is a report by Bridget Padron (KCJS30 Spring, Boston University).

The field trip to Hourinji with Japanese students was very enjoyable. I have been to many temples so far in my time in Kyoto, but this one was especially memorable. As indicated by its nickname, the temple had many daruma of various sizes in its various buildings. It also had a very beautiful garden, and we were able to look at the temple’s rooms closely. It was raining at the time but was still a great experience.
