Mon. Feb. 27. 2023Field Trip to Rokuhara Mitsuji temple

The disciplinary class “Kyoto : A Cultural History” course took a field trip to Rokuhara Mitsuji temple in early February.
Susanna Hontz (KCJS34 Spring, Lafayette College)shared her comments on the trip:

”On February 9th, for Kyoto: A Cultural History class, we walked through Gion to find Rokuhara Mitsuji temple. Professor Poulton explained the histories of the neighborhoods on the way. We were able to see the temple’s sculpture collection. The statue of Rokuhara Mitsuji Temple’s founder, Kuya, was the most striking. I really enjoyed walking through Gion and seeing Rokuhara Mitsuji.”
