Eraser stamp making workshop
Students had an opportunity to make their own stamp under the guidance of Akagi Mutsuyo sensei, who is an professional oil painting artist.
Will Hanson (KCJS34 Spring, Tufts University) shared his experience:

“Last Tuesday, we had the amazing experience of learning how to make stamps! After a little instruction, we were all able to carve out our names into a stamp and soon thereafter were able to craft whatever we wanted. It was a great chance to connect with some local students and practice our Japanese. Everyone had a different take on how they wanted to approach this project and we were able to incorporate many different ideas while making our stamps, a great bonding experience. After we all made our stamps, we were given a canvas so that we could collect everyone else’s stamps. This was an amazing opportunity to see what everyone else had done. overall, it was the perfect activity to show off my creative side and it left me feeling much closer to my peers. I am looking forward to the next workshops and I hope they will be just as fun!”

Thank you to Akagi-sensei for giving us the fun, fulfilling workshop!
