Field trip to the Ryozen Museum Histtory
Tony Kim (KCJS34 Spring, Emory University) shared his comment on the field trip:

“On March 30th, Kyoto: Cultural History class went to the Ryozen Museum of History. During our climb to the museum, we were welcomed by Sakura Blossom. At the museum, we were able to learn the history of those individuals and events that have shaped modern Japan. Through the exhibition, we were able to experience the turbulent Bakumatsu period. After immersing ourselves in the modernization of Japan over a century ago, we climbed up to the Ryozen cemetery to visit the tomb of those who forever changed Japan’s modern destiny. While descending, we were greeted by Sakura Blossom, lit by the sunset. Overall, the trip was an equal amount of learning and relaxation.”
